Our Story

Founded in February 2005, Burmak Cabinets began as a small family-run workshop with a simple vision: to create cabinetry that combined craftsmanship, quality, and care. Over two decades later, that vision has grown into a state-of-the-art cabinet-making business, trusted by homeowners, builders, and architects across the Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne.

From day one, we’ve embraced innovation as much as tradition. What started with hand tools and determination has evolved into a workshop equipped with advanced CNC machinery and a team of passionate makers. Along the way we’ve:

Working with trusted suppliers such as Blum and Polytec, we combine premium products with our own hands-on approach to ensure cabinetry that performs beautifully for years to come.

Our Sustainable Journey

In 2024, we proudly began a new chapter in our story: pioneering sustainable joinery. We were honoured to build and install custom cabinetry for Woodleigh School’s award-winning Regenerative Futures Studio — Australia’s first large-scale project using 100% Australian-grown hemp board.
Working alongside McIldowie Partners, Joost Bakker and Frank Burridge, we crafted joinery for kitchens, bathrooms and study spaces that showcased how premium craftsmanship and eco-conscious materials can come together. This landmark project went on to win the 2025 Victorian Architecture Award for Sustainability, receive a commendation in Educational Architecture, and be shortlisted nationally for Learning Spaces and Social Impact.
It’s proof that high-end joinery can embrace innovation, environmental responsibility, and timeless design — values we now continue to carry into every project.

Giving Back

At Burmak Cabinets, we believe in giving back to causes that touch all of us. Through our partnership with Polytec, we proudly support the McGrath Foundation, helping to fund breast care nurses across Australia. Cancer is something that has touched our family — and so many others — and supporting this foundation is a way we can contribute beyond cabinet
